Lil Tiny blog!

I had a lot of trouble with this one.  I wasn't very happy with ANY of my ideas.  Well, I could hardly think of anything anyway.  A pop-up house with ghosts was cool, then I remembered that I have zero paper for such things. It was one of those times of 'meh, can experiment with this ruffly thing, make a theme out of it.'  'well, dangling jelly fish are gonna be a problem, since the thread has to be taught and not touch.'  'maybe get wires, maybe tack them flat to a card....' I ended up sewing them to a hat I had knit, because I couldn't find my blue spray paint to decorate a box.  It's weird.  Gimmicky.  I still got a little giddy when the first LED started blinking.  (Part of that was relief, because redoing all the (-) connections would have made me cry, but mostly "shiny!") I thought this blog was due at midnight, so pictures will be added weirdly. Never got around to looking for wires.  I wish I had.  Because I ended up taking a baj

I decided to go with security in the final hour, and link my blog to the class discussion.  "Online Anonymity" will potentially go out the window.  Rather threatening.  But I comfort myself with this: no one CARES enough to follow a link these days.  Only the teacher will see it.  Maybe 1 or 2 curious and most likely kind souls.  nbd. well, I'm falling asleep sitting up again.  :/  can I just text in to work sick NOW.  Save myself the threat of all those nasty viruses and SLEEP? Finishing the blog that has been weighing on my mind is a great relief, though.  ish.  still have to fix the darn bracelet. I want to get my sewing machine repaired, then bowshit like all that hand sewing would be a thing of the past.  "tacking" instead of actual... *shudder* consistency.  Would not want to hook up silver thread to sewing machine, though.  To 'spensive I bet.  But for the regular sewing bits, yeah.  I actually thought of it.  "Hey, with some of your extr

Bread boards are rough, but better than finding out that you soldered two or more resistors in the wrong pattern.  I'd rather melt off some weird metal than stitch over and over again by hand.  *shudder* Well, too bad! (Felt + LEDs + weird paper-sounding thread)^monotony = 1 bracelet. I got a late start.  I was a little distracted by my computer, that had coughed this at me. *horror!*  well, I got it happy again.  Finally fixed my two-day problem, actually, and everyone had already started cutting their chosen felts.  Alright, that's dramatic, there were a few stragglers with me. My card had a green LED, and when drawing was the activity, I wanted to do a cat, but only had one LED eye.  This time, I'd do it right.  A new roommate had put cartoon owl magnets on our fridge the day before, and I thought "I can make a cute bracelet for my owl-obsessed friend.  Or me.  Friend or me; I have all semester to decide."  So those were my glowy eyes.  but it needed t

Clean Install

how frustrating.  This summer I went to restore my system and lo and behold: my recovery partition was corrupted, therefore my recovery DISKS were corrupted. First clean install. I got my function keys working then. This time around things seem much more difficult.  Several many "updates" say they might not have installed properly, a couple even stopped short, saying "not for your model".  well, I got the file from the sony official site FOR my model, dammit! And I CANNOT get my function keys to work!  I need a driver and sony refuses to supply one on their site!  grrr!  worst case scenario, I have an ISO image backup of my laptop on my external harddrive.  But I wanted it CLEAN for a reason!  But with all the drivers I have been trying out in an effort to make my keys work... well.  It might be getting gunked up already. learning more and more. I found this http://esupport.sony.com/swu/368/US/EN/ it made me so excited.  hot keys exe!...  it's for

Happy studying!

My lover is taking the semester off to study for an accounting exam, and place into a business college version of Calculus.  Two exams measuring classes worth of knowledge!  So, for his birthday, I drew this: It cut off my broken unit circle, but I think the ship is cooler anyway.  :)  I guess I can play with my scanner settings... no dice.  just flipped it... eh?  seems like a better focus on the explosion, but tight and square-y. The raptor was inspired by a cute text he sent me about my math force being "velociraptor-y".  :) The shark from Despicable Me 2, which I just saw monday! It's not awesome, but I love his little doodles, and he said he feels the same about mine.  So here is this then! PS, I carelessly scribbled a little on my landlord's desk=horror.  After a quick google search, I tried using my eraser on it, and that worked!  Hallelujah!
