working on a fanfic

well, I was ecstatic when I had navigated the tide-turning conversation, but I haven't posted it.  Why?  Something felt... plaigary. Didn't look at when the blog was due, I assumed it would be with the project. I have the resistive swatches sewed on, working on connecting them to my lilypad.  Rather difficult not to have cross-over from the A's and +... maybe I should have rotated the thing.  too late now. I got the 1/4 neopixel soldered.  without a separate power source (ugh, read product descriptions, people) I am playing it safe by only using one of the 4 pieces I bought.  They are impressively bright, for wanting 5 V and only getting 3.3V.  Anyway, I soldered on some wires to curl and sew around: for the circuit as well as simply anchoring it a little better.  Had two of them snap on me already.  not ideal. Things to do: Thermo Beautiful Homework CS Tic-tac-toe program ><><><>< (for this project) Get suspenders to anchor leds, and arm bands to guide/anchor wire. Knit four resistive swatches, 1 2 3 4   ....................................(am I knitting these right?  I am going 6 across and long.  Should it be 18 across and short?  Like, how are the resistive properties directionally?  I have no multimeter!  I can never remember the industry term for the directions.)  I feel like the way I am doing it would supply more resistance? Research that question before knitting any more.  " 46 ohms per foot across the rows (stretchier direction) and 460 ohms per foot across the columns (less stretchy direction)"   Well, my long way is the stretchy direction... looks like I AM knitting them wrong!  psh!  (since, greater resistance would imply greater variation depending on where it is touched...  hmmm!)  Well, at least I didn't cut the second one off ye

Final Project Ratchets up Budget.

phew!  ordered some reflective suspenders and "ankle straps" for my final project.  This should be the end of my purchases, I will have all of the framework.  Approximately $60 out of pocket, and I was able to use a $40 in-class budget.  (I mean, I would have saved 25 just being able to scavenge the controller from an old class project, but she wants a giant show-and-tell at the end of the semester.  And I did go fancy with the leds.  Just didn't think suspenders would cost 17!  psshhhhh!  But materials to make my own crusty ones would cost about the same, and take a lotta time.)  Which goes for the arm bands.  Buy velcro, elastic, reflective tape (okay, that was optional), find a sewing machine, hope it doesn't fall apart or otherwise suck.  Knit some?  I did not see them sticking to my arm very well, and it would be closed loops to pull up.  I guess... how would one attach velcro to a knit swatch?  But the TIME.  I would rather have my time.  And with my current job

I thought of a dragging dog, and how i could use a knitted resistance-range sensor that pulls it. Well, I'm not butching a real draggy dog toy, and didn't have time to make one. I have no idea what to do.  I thought time was going to be a challenge this semester, but the real challenge has been "ideas."  I will figure it out after spring break, I thought. Only a week to make this thing?! So much for experimenting with the dual-tone library. Simple simple.

Tomatos

I loved that "Japanese" Black Trefele thingy...  num!  I saved some seeds but hardly in a pro manner, so think I will get some peat pots and try starting them, maybe buy some on amazon just to be safe. (Love it, sure, but not the same as what I was shooting for.  And like one person said, salt was not only unnecessary, it was sort of a bad idea.  Still drawn to the option of those amazing, delicious when salted and raw 'maters.) That other black one I got was NOT impressive.  I would need to look at my post to get the names now.  Yay blog archives! An Adventure with  Lanetta Sova!!!  The Deal: I take care of the Scratch Coding, Lanetta master-minds the controls. connected wires ready for class behold the makey makey! We had challenges with just being creative.  [We were both busy over the weekend and didn't want to commit to anything ridiculous.]  When we originally presented our idea, [things went well, then some over-achiever inspired our instructors to tell us...] we needed to be more creative. [I'm a little glad, cuz Lanetta's idea was cool.]  Our final project idea ended up being to have a pong game that required team work and the controllers being water. The two players must hold hands and race from one end of the table to the other to move the paddles. (Only one player is holding directly to ground, the second player is holding ground by holding hands with player one.)  [I originally thought this would be something to  sabotage  people with, like yank them from their button.  FYI: Left the o

Oatmeal Muffins Soak for 15 minutes 1 cup oats 1 cup sour milk or buttermilk Add 1 egg ½ cup brown sugar ½ cup melted butter 1 cup flour 1 tsp baking powder ½ tsp salt ½ tsp baking soda Bake at 400 for 15-20 minutes These muffins are THE MOST DELICIOUS CREATIONS OF BREAD I HAVE EVER PUT IN MY MOUTH!!!  My go-to recipe for over a decade.

Errors in Touch Capacitive Project...

I knotted up the + LED and LilyPad port connections before class. All of my leds turned on, and are sitting there, on.  :/  my program is so simple, it is flawless!  (apparently not.)  But I know that, last week, with one alligator clip, I totes got different readings on my lovely, crunch sensors (they are inside the sleeves). maybe it is a mis-sew on my circuit. that could be a problem later. Straightened it out, still solid LEDs. In case things were touching that ought not to be, I put on my sweater.  The only times the lights go OFF is when they are pressed on the foil beneath them.  As discovered by my curious work partner.  Pressed...  hmmmm.  Well, never mind that now!   *POP* across my shoulders.  well, that's not good.  I ripped my left sleeve line trying to stretch it out to tighten, just in case that first pop wasn't a rip.  They sounded similar.  LED's still on. Arduino IDE's and me

wow.  so, I had an error about having a ; after a function().  I taking it off revealed more errors, but I thought they meant it belonged there.  no, there were just more ; missing after my light commands. last error?  it WANTED a ; after else ___()!  go figure. I was doing this on my phone.  My clutch Computer Science teacher helped show me the myriad errors for what they were.
